Comfy Cozy

One of my favorite things about fall is getting my home ready for winter. I don’t know if it’s some primal nesting instinct or what, but as soon as the temp starts to drop below 50 degrees I find myself on a mission to make my home as comfy and cozy as possible. Out come the blankets, the fall scented candles, the warm autumn colors and fuzzy things. All things leading to cuddling and romance. ;)

A favorite fall activity of mine is anything to do with cooking and apples. We live on 2 acres of what used to be an orchard back in the late 18/early 1900’s and there are seven apple trees from that time period still on the land. I have no idea what kind apples they are, but they make the absolute best apple pies, applesauce, and apple butter. To me the scent of cooking apples always brings to mind fall and when I have a pot of applesauce going in the crockpot it smells like heaven. You know the old saying about the way to a man’s heart being through his stomach? Well it’s true and for a man walking into a house that smells yummy will for sure lead to some kisses for the cook.

If you’ve never made homemade applesauce before I’d highly recommend you give it a try. It’s super easy when you use a Crockpot and the taste is divine. Below is the simple recipe I use for making applesauce. I’d suggest you go to a local apple orchard for your apples if you’re lucky enough to have one nearby, or make sure that you get apples from your local market that are suited for making pies. :)

Ingredients

• 8 apples - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
• 1/2 cup water
• 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
Directions

1. Combine the apples and water in a slow cooker; cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours. Stir in the brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice; continue cooking another 30 minutes.

I hope you have a lovely Autumn filled with love, laughter and yummy food. Tell me what your favorite comfort food for Fall is and you’ll be entered to win an eBook of your choice from my backlist. :D

About the Author:
Ann is Queen of the Castle to her wonderful husband and three sons in the mountains of West Virginia. In her past lives she's been an Import Broker, a Communications Specialist, a US Navy Civilian Contractor, a Bartender/Waitress, and an actor at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She also spent a summer touring with the Grateful Dead-though she will deny to her children that it ever happened.

From a young age she's been fascinated by myths and fairy tales, and the romance that often was the center of the story. As Ann grew older and her hormones kicked in, she discovered trashy romance novels. Great at first, but she soon grew tired of the endless stories with a big wonderful emotional buildup to really short and crappy sex. Never a big fan of purple prose, throbbing spears of fleshy pleasure and wet honey pots make her giggle, she sought out books that gave the sex scenes in the story just as much detail and plot as everything else-without using cringe worthy euphemisms. This led her to the wonderful world of Erotic Romance, and she's never looked back.

Now Ann spends her days trying to tune out cartoons playing in the background to get into her 'sexy space' and has learned to type one handed while soothing a cranky baby.
