I’ve always been one of those people who has had to find a way to fit in. I don’t mean changing myself to be what others want, but understanding where I can do the most good.
The same goes for my character in Christmas Glow. Pixie isn’t your average elf. She dances to the beat of a whole punk band. When Santa put her in charge of the Teddy Bear production line, well, she ran in her own direction. Most of the bears are Teddy bears, complete with thick brown fur and shiny black eyes. Then there are her bears. None of her bears are standard. Some have tie-dyed fur. Others have bracelets and earrings. Still others have tattoos.
You might wonder what kid wants a punk bear and who actually asks for these. There are times when Santa wonders the same thing. Then he gets the lists. Yep, those lists have requests for bears that aren’t standard issue. Sally wants a bear to cuddle that’s not average. George wants one to match the tattoo he’s got on his arm. And Michaela? She just wants one that doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
That’s how Pixie thinks, too. She doesn’t get out much, but she’s adventurous. Living in the North Pole is sort of boring. Anything to make life fun, that’s what she wants to do. Oh, and find that one person who gets her. She doesn’t look like a standard elf, either. She wears her makeup a bit too thick and her skirts too short. She’s known to wear knee-high boots to work, too.
And her choice in music? She’s a punk girl all the way. That’s where Glow comes in. One night at a concert changed her life. Now it’s up to her to convince Santa that the one night with Nitro could be the start of something great.
But will Santa agree? You’ll have to read Christmas Glow and find out.
Now with all these posts, there’s a prize involved. Mine, too. What’s up for grabs? For one lucky commenter, there’s a bracelet and earring set. Yep! All you have to do is comment and leave your name and email so I can get in touch with you. It’s easy!
And now a little more about Christmas Glow.

Pixie Elf's days of designing punk teddy bears just aren't cutting it. She wants more, including the sexy radio jockey she met at a Glow concert. That is, if he's up for grabs. Nitro Hicks loves playing the latest rock tunes, but he can't get a certain elf off his mind. Does he have what it takes to rock her world for the long haul?
Magic happens in the Christmas Glow.
And now a little bit about me!
When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.
When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best.
Currently hanging out every Wednesday and Friday at the Menagerie Authors site, hunting Hotties for the Saturday posts, and working on the next great story brewing in her head!
The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always needs them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.
She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk and is published through Changeling Press, Liquid Silver Books, and Total-E-Bound Publishing.
